In the past, God overlooked mans' ignorance, but now He commands all
people everywhere to repent. For He has set a day when He will judge
the world with justice by the Man, Jesus Christ; the One He has appointed.
He has given proof of this to all men by raising Him from the dead.

  8. The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD. Pro 21:31 [NIV]
  9. I called on Your name, O LORD, from the depths of the pit. You heard my plea . . . You came near when I called You, and You said, “Do not fear.” O LORD, You took up my case; You redeemed my life. Lam 3:55-58 [NIV]
  10. Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak. Mar 14:38 [NIV]
  11. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will. Rom 8:26-27 [NIV]
  12. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. 2Co 1:10,11 [NIV]
  13. Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Col 4:2 [NIV]
  14. Pray continually. 1Th 5:17 [NIV]
  15. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Jam 5:16 [NIV]
  16. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer. 1Pe 3:12 [NIV]

A few examples of what to pray for:

  1. Pray that I may be rescued from the unbelievers in Judea and that my service in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints there. Rom 15:31 [NIV]
  2. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you. Eph 1:18 [NIV]
  3. I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Eph 3:16-17 [NIV]
  4. Always keep on praying for all the saints. Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. Eph 6:18-19 [NIV]
  5. And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight. Php 1:9 [NIV]
  6. We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you. Col 1:3 [NIV]
  7. We have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. Col 1:9-10 [NIV]
  8. Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and supply what is lacking in your faith. 1Th 3:10 [NIV]
  9. With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2Th 1:11 12 [NIV]
  10. Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. 2Th 3:1-2 [NIV]
  11. I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 1Ti 2:1-4 [NIV]
  12. I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. Phm 1:6 [NIV]
