Freshman Lawmakers Make Grandstand For Status Quo

In a bold move, sixteen (16) freshman lawmakers in the Idaho house are pressing for the status quo – more big government. Gone are the days when newly elected idealogues stand boldly for cherished principle then slowly recede via compromise into the landscape. Now they grandstand for absolutely no principle at all.

It matters little there is no bill before the House – yet. But in a bold move (or naive attempt, as Vito Barbieri describes it) to amend a Senate Bill that has not been heard by the Senate, they have declared their support for ObamaCare via the State Health Exchange – as long as safeguards are in place. What are these safeguards? 1) Two legislative non-voting members on the board – as if this is true legislative oversight!!!; and 2) The citizens will be notified in advance of any changes in the regulations. What protection does information about turns in the law afford us? What about protecting us from the regulations altogether?

According to the CDA Press, Representative Kelley Parker, of McCammon, says, “Simply doing nothing is irresponsible.” She and her colleagues ignore the fact that over half the State legislatures have already repudiated ObamaCare and the Health Exchanges – this is doing something that will protect freedom and save our States from financial ruin.

Eight freshman lawmakers have continued to hold to principle – sadly, they are in the minority. Because sixteen think their first bold move is to support the current trending of big government overreach and to cheer on the formerly conservative governor of our State. It matters little the financial ruin and regulatory choke-hold of our medical services via ObamaCare – it matters little the lawless mandates of ObamaCare and its promotion of the culture of death – it matters little the majority of voters in our conservative State are strongly opposed to ObamaCare. These new freshmen are like children who have no grasp of the facts but are desperately working for their fifteen minutes of fame.

Get hold of your lawmaker NOW and tell him you want nothing to do with State Health Exchanges – before this one goes down as a loss.

When the vote comes around, the PASS and FAIL players will be posted at God save our nation.

O Lord, I have heard of your fame and stand in awe of your works. Revive them in our time; even now, make Yourself known - but in Your wrath remember mercy.
